I booked this trip last March 2011 but the day we were suppose go, Rick had called and said it was just nasty out to go and that we should reschedule it for Oct. 2011, so we did. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime adventure!! Rick, is a professional fisherman in the strictest sense of the word!! It was an extremely exciting trip, floating the Grande Rhone River with him!! Not only did we catch fish, but he explained the "who, where, what, why and how" to become a good fisherman!! He is also a great cook and photographer as well!! Thanks for a fantastic trip!!

Nice job on the Smallmouth Bass page Rick. I was hoping you were not going to let the cat out of the bag. I will be bringing both my kids this summer again. They had the time of the lives last year. You're a great coach and your enthusiam to teach my kids means the world to me. Thanks again, Wes

Covering every trick in his playbook. I am fully convinced beyond a reasonable doubt, if there were ever an honor for Ricks knowledge of the river and fish, he does deserve the Heisman, Lombardi and Coach of the year award all in one. We began the day against a might defensive home team. We were caught in a scoreless first half. The fish used the home field advantage to use up the clock. Then, Coach Hedding sent in his secret weapon. Then, just as Boise St. #11 would, I found the strike zone. Back to back receptions. Even though the first of the 2 were called back (to the river) for the obvious finage rule, I rallied back for another score which was a huge confidence builder. At this point of the afternoon game, we're up by 12, pounds. Late in the fourth quarter of the day, the home team scores a very quick TD, (take down) due to inattention to detail. Score tied, Clock running out, I grabbed a monster catch; put the football shape fish to the boat only to give up another huge score to the same finage call. Well, as the light grew dim, the day game over, once again, we lost the battle but won the war. But the ultimate overall prize, this is Gods Country. Respect it as your own, and the memories will be with you to the very end. Just being present in the canyon or anywhere else on the river, is a valuable experience. Having Mr. Rick Hedding as your tour/fishing guide, is a major bonus in itself. As the season grows on, the competition will get better, in and out of the water. This instructor on the river is in high demand. He is worth every minute, hour, and day. Rick teaches diversity when on the river. I have realized that on this river you need to have a wide array of ideas on what fools these incredible creatures that makes life so rewarding. Thank you my brother. Nina and I have found a true friend in him for the rest of our lives. Timothy A. Pyle

Booked two trips with Rick one week apart this year. Awesome days on the river as always. My son Ryan scored a 25lb King still in great shape which made for a great battle. Rick's desire to teach my son's and I how to Steelhead has created a life long passion and memories that will last forever! Can't thank you enough Rick...
